Occupational Pension Schemes (Employer Debt and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 come into force

Implementation date: 6 April 2010

The Regulations introduce two new procedures whereby an employer that ceases to participate in a multi-employer occupational pension scheme may not be required to pay a sum of money into the scheme by way of employer debt. The circumstances include where one employer agrees to take on another employer's obligations towards the scheme. The Regulations make corresponding provision to Regulations made in Great Britain. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
