Pensions (2008 No.2 Act) (Commencement No.10 and Supplementary Provisions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 comes into force

Implementation date: 1 October 2012

The commencement order brings into force s.69 of the Pensions (No.2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, which amends art.5 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (SI 1999/3147) concerning the employer's duty to designate a stakeholder pension scheme for "relevant employees". The amendments remove the employer's statutory duty to have a designated stakeholder pension scheme. The order makes supplementary provisions in relation to this. The order can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
