Pensions Act 2008 (Commencement No.14 and Supplementary Provisions) Order 2012 comes into force

Implementation date: 1 October 2012

The commencement order brings into force s.87 of the Pensions Act 2008, which amends s.3 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 concerning the employer's duty to designate a stakeholder pension scheme for "relevant employees". The amendments remove the employer's statutory duty to have a designated stakeholder pension scheme. The order makes supplementary provisions in relation to this. The order can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
