Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Disclosure and Barring Service Transfer of Functions) Order 2012 comes into force

Implementation date: 1 December 2012

The order transfers the functions of the Independent Safeguarding Authority to the Disclosure and Barring Service. It also transfers to the Disclosure and Barring Service the functions that are exercised by the Criminal Records Bureau under part 5 of the Police Act 1997.
