Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) Order 2016 comes into force

Implementation date: 1 November 2016

The Order makes changes to the Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) Order 2014 (SI 2014/2418):

• It adds the Commissioners appointed under the Local Government Act 1999 and Older People's Commissioner, Qualification Wales and the Wales Audit Office to the list of prescribed persons.
• It makes an amendment to the list of matters relating to a number of functions carried out by the Bank of England and adds a new matter in relation to the custody, distribution and processing of Bank of England banknotes.
• It adds the newly created Food Standards Scotland and sets out the territorial extent of the Food Standards Agency of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• It makes an amendment to reflect the change in name from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
