Quality Contracts Schemes (Application of TUPE) Regulations 2009 come into force

Implementation date: 11 January 2010

The Regulations supplement the provisions of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/246) by making specific provisions relevant to employees of bus operators who are affected by the making of a quality contracts scheme. A quality contract is a contract made by the local transport authority under which a particular operator is granted the exclusive right to operate specified services. In England, the Regulations come into force on 11 January 2010. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
