Registration of Social Care Workers (Relevant Registers) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 come into force

Implementation date: 1 June 2005

The Regulations prescribe the registers maintained under the provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 as relevant registers. The purpose of prescribing the registers is to ensure that an individual registered as a social worker in any of them will not be guilty of an offence under the Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001, section 8(1) if he or she takes or uses the title 'social worker'. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
