Social Security Benefits Up-rating Regulations 2010 come into force

Implementation date: 12 April 2010

The Regulations prescribe that where a question arises about the effect of the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2010 (SI 2010/793) on a benefit already in payment, the altered rate will not apply until that question is determined by the Secretary of State, the first-tier tribunal or the upper tribunal. It also restricts the application of the increases in that Order to persons living abroad. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
