Social Security (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.5) Regulations 2009 come into force

Implementation date: 25 January 2010

The Regulations abolish the urgent care payment provision that allows a reduced amount of benefit to be paid when a person's normal income stream is temporarily interrupted. The provision allowing disabled workers in full-time employment access to income support or job seeker's allowance is also abolished. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
