Statutory Maternity Pay (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 come into force

Implementation date: 6 April 2005

The Regulations amend the Statutory Maternity Pay (General) Regulations 1986 by inserting a definition of statutory maternity leave. They also include, in normal weekly earnings, for the purposes of calculating entitlement to statutory maternity pay any pay increase which applies to the whole or any part of the period between the beginning of the period when pay is calculated to determine entitlement to statutory maternity pay and the end of the period of statutory maternity leave. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
