Maternity rights in specific situations

This line manager briefing looks at a number of challenging situations that may arise as a result of an employee's pregnancy or maternity leave, including early and late births and redundancy during maternity leave. It also explores how to deal with requests to return to work part time.
Parents of babies due on or after 5 April 2015 are entitled to statutory shared parental leave if they meet certain eligibility requirements. Line managers should make use of available resources on shared parental leave for further guidance.
