>> How do I get started using Liveflo?
To get
started using Liveflo, follow these simple steps:
*Note: the Workflows page can be accessed by clicking the "Workflows" button in the navigation bar at the top of all Liveflo pages.
>> How does the flowchart work with the guidance
panel?
When you have opened a workflow, you will see that on the
left of the screen is a guidance panel, with text and links relating to that
particular workflow. On the right is the flowchart for your chosen workflow.
For a full view of the flowchart, click the “Expand chart” button. You can zoom in and out and move the chart around by holding down your mouse button and dragging. You can also print the chart.
To start the workflow, click the “Begin workflow” button on the workflow homepage to open the first step. You can see that the chart has moved so that your current step is highlighted in both the guidance panel and the flowchart.
In the guidance panel, simply drag the scroll bar down to see all the key points, warnings, templates and further guidance associated with this step.
To view any item, click the heading and your chosen item will open conveniently in a new window, so you don’t lose your place in the workflow.
To move to the next step, when you are happy that you have understood the guidance associated with a step, just click the relevant button - this may simply be a "Done" button or, if you are on a workflow step that requires a decision, it will be an answer button such as "Yes" or "No". Once you have clicked the button, you will see that both the guidance panel and the flowchart have moved on.
You can also click the answers or shapes on the flowchart to move to the next step.
>> Can I get guidance on events outside the flowchart
process?
Yes, we all know that real life is more complicated than a
flowchart, which is why Liveflo also provides guidance on events that may occur
outside the standard flowchart procedure. If you find that you are unable to
proceed at a particular step, simply click the “What if…?” button for a list of
events outside the flowchart procedure.
Just like regular flowchart steps, “What if…?” events include key points, model documents and additional guidance to help you deal with situations, such as an employee going off sick during a disciplinary process, easily and efficiently.
>> Does XpertHR provide user training on
Liveflo?
Yes, to set up user training sessions for Liveflo users in
your organisation, please call our user training team on 020 8652 4653 or email
training@xperthr.co.uk.
>> I can't see the interactive flowcharts
If the
interactive flowcharts are not working, please check that you are using an
internet browser with:
Liveflo's interactive flowcharts require Javascript to be enabled in your internet browser and the Adobe Flash® Player plugin, version 9.0 or above, to be installed. Almost all internet users online with desktop devices have both of these technologies, but a very small minority do not.
If you are unable to make use of either Javascript or Flash or both, perhaps because of a strict company IT policy for example, please be aware that the Liveflo service has been designed to work without these technologies if necessary.
Users without Javascript and/or Flash are able to select workflows and work through them using the guidance panel and the buttons, making use of all the associated guidance, templates and "What if...?" events. However, they are not able to enjoy interactive flowcharts linked to the guidance panel.
>> I can't see the introductory video or other videos on
Liveflo
The videos on Liveflo, like those on XpertHR Professional
and Small Business, require the Adobe Flash® Player plugin (opens in new window). Almost
all internet users online with desktop devices have Flash® Player installed, but
a very small minority do not.
If you are unable to view the videos, please check that you have the latest version of Flash (opens in new window) installed.
If you are unable to install Flash, perhaps because of a strict company IT policy for example, or you are unable to view a video for another reason, you can read text transcripts for each video on Liveflo. Simply click the transcript link near the video thumbnail image to see the text transcript for that video.
>> What is the status of Liveflo's workflows?
Each
workflow on Liveflo is an example of a legally compliant process. Employers will
often have their own procedures and policies, which may differ from the
corresponding workflows on Liveflo, so users will need to take due account of
their own organisation's procedures and policies.
As we state in our terms and conditions, the materials and information included in the service are provided for reference purposes only. They are not intended either as a substitute for professional advice or judgment or to provide legal or other advice with respect to particular circumstances.
>> Are the workflows always up to date?
Yes, our
workflows are kept up to date on a daily basis by XpertHR's team of employment
law editors and authors. They are able to edit the flowcharts, the guidance and
the template documents in line with any legal changes without any need to
involve web developers or other technical intermediaries, with any changes
appearing online within seconds.
>> Will new workflows be published?
Yes, we have
many new workflows in the pipeline and more will be added regularly throughout
the year. New workflows will be announced prominently on the Liveflo home
page.
If you wish to suggest a topic for a workflow, please fill in the feedback form. We will be delighted to hear your suggestion. (You may of course use the feedback form for any other feedback you would like to offer.)
Note: the feedback form is available only to logged-in users.
>> My company's procedure is different from the Liveflo
workflow: does this matter?
Each workflow on Liveflo is an example
of a legally compliant process. Employers will often have their own procedures
and policies, which may differ from the corresponding workflows on Liveflo, so
users will need to take due account of their own organisation's procedures and
policies.
We do not offer the ability for employers to tailor Liveflo to match their own procedures, though we are keeping this under review.
>> How can I bookmark steps and "What if...?"
events?
Bookmark a step or a "What if...?" event by clicking the
"Bookmark this step" or "Bookmark this 'What if' event" button at the top left of the
guidance panel when viewing a step or "What if...?" event, just above the "Key
points" heading.
>> How do I access my bookmarked steps and "What if...?"
events?
Access your bookmarked steps and "What if...?" events by clicking
the "My Bookmarks" button in the navigation bar at the top of all Liveflo
pages.
The "My Bookmarks" page shows a list of all your bookmarked steps and "What if...?" events. Click the heading to open the bookmarked step or "What if...?" event.
You can also add notes and delete bookmarked steps and "What if...?" events from the list. Removing items from your bookmarked list does not, of course, remove them from the workflow.
>> Why can't I save the history of my progress through a
workflow?
Liveflo does offer the ability to bookmark steps and "What if...?" events, but not the
ability to save a record of a user's path through a workflow. We believe this
would be a useful feature, but we are not able to offer it currently because of
the technical complexity involved. We would appreciate your feedback on this
and any other issues.
Note: the feedback form is available only to logged-in users.
>> How do I get help with an issue that isn't mentioned on this
page?
If you require immediate help with any issue that is not
mentioned on this page, please contact the XpertHR customer support desk on 0845
671 1110 or email helpdesk@xperthr.co.uk.
If you would like us to add a help issue to this page, and do not require an immediate response, please use our feedback form.
Note: the feedback form is available only to logged-in users.

Liveflo?
We welcome your feedback and questions about our service.
