Consultation on windings-up
The Department for Work andPensions has issued a consultation document and draft Regulations1 to amend the existing statutory order of priority of claims when a defined-benefit pension scheme subject to the "minimum funding requirement" is wound up.
The proposals are intended to ensure that, where there are insufficient assets to meet all liabilities, they are shared as fairly as possible between pensioners and non-pensioners.
