Data Protection Act comes fully into force
When the UK government implemented the European Data Protection Directive1 in the Data Protection Act 1998 ("the 1998 Act"), it contained transitional provisions which delayed its impact. However, the most extensive transitional relief comes to an end on 23 October 2001.
