Proposed pensions reforms
In May 2006, the UK government published its proposals for pensions reform. These raise the retirement age for claiming a state pension, set up a new system of personal pension savings accounts, improve the situation for women and carers and extend the scheme that helps people whose workplace pension scheme fails.
