What chance for the Corporate Manslaughter Bill?

The draft Bill on corporate manslaughter announced in the Queen's Speech last month is likely to fall victim to the expected general election in 2005, and the consequent truncation of the next parliamentary session.

Speaking on the day of the Queen's Speech, home secretary David Blunkett said: "Our current laws on corporate manslaughter are not offering the protection they should, nor instilling confidence in the justice system.
