Documentation acceptable as proof of right to work in the UK - acceptable combinations of documents (prior to 29 February 2008)

Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and the Immigration (Restrictions on Employment) Order 2004, to establish that an individual who commenced employment prior to 29 February 2008 had the right to work in the UK, an employer was required to check and copy or record two of the original documents from the combinations outlined below. (Alternatively, the employer was able to check and copy or record one document from those acceptable on their own - see Documentation acceptable as proof of right to work in the UK - acceptable single documents (prior to 29 February 2008).)
