Friend or foe? The right to request flexible working
HR Prospects survey, part 6
The new statutory entitlement for parents of young or disabled
children to request flexible working is expected to boost staff retention, but
employers remain concerned about the headaches associated with the provisions.
Key points
The overwhelming majority - some 85.6% of
surveyed employers - reported that they would be introducing new
procedures to deal with requests for flexible working as a result of the
recent legislative change in this area.
The workload for HR and line managers in terms of
dealing with requests looks set to increase heavily, with 73% expecting an
increase in requests for flexible working. |
