Location pay and allowances: 2013 XpertHR survey

This XpertHR survey examines employers' location pay arrangements and allowances, ranging from a traditional London weighting payment to market-based pay systems with a regional component. 

Location pay arrangements can help employers to develop and implement flexible pay structures that take account of regional variations in the cost of living or in the supply and demand for labour. They can be used to address general but localised recruitment and retention problems or be targeted to tackle specific skill shortages.
