In 2014, we noted that the construction industry was showing signs of skills shortages in the wake of a pick-up in building activity. This may have contributed to rising pay levels over the past 12 months, with the median increase now higher than in 2013/14. Indeed, a number of industry bodies are warning that a shortage of labour may hamper the completion of future projects.
