Agree to a statutory request in relation to study or training

Key points

  • The employer may be able to agree to a statutory request in relation to study or training without holding a meeting with the employee to discuss the request, or may do so following such a meeting.
  • Where the employer agrees to the request, it must write to the employee setting out a number of specified details about the training, including whether or not the employee will be paid for the time spent on the training.
