An employer must offer a free health assessment to any worker who is to become a "night worker", a status that is defined in health and safety legislation. Employers must also give night workers the opportunity to have further assessments at regular intervals.
On a doctor's advice, any worker experiencing health problems associated with night work must, if possible, be transferred to day work.
Employers must keep records showing that they have complied with their obligations regarding health assessments for night workers for at least the minimum period set out in the legislation.
