Employers must ensure that workplaces comply with the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, which cover a wide range of matters including temperature in indoor workplaces, ventilation and washing facilities.
The Regulations state that, during working hours, the temperature in all workplaces inside buildings should be reasonable.
Whether or not the temperature is reasonable will depend on factors such as the type of work being carried out.
