Check the qualifying period for statutory employment rights
Key points
To qualify for certain statutory rights a person must have been continuously employed for a specified period. For example, to qualify for statutory maternity pay or shared parental leave and pay, an employee must have accrued 26 weeks' qualifying service by a specified date.
Some statutory rights, for example those relating to protection from discrimination, do not have qualifying periods.
