Decide the organisation's policy on time off for reserve forces training
Key points
Employers must allow employees who are members of the reserve forces to go on military service if they are called up (unless they successfully apply for a deferral, revocation or exemption), but reservists do not have an automatic right to time off for military training at other times.
A policy on time off for reserve forces training should cover, among other issues, whether or not additional leave will be granted to reservists to undertake training, and, if it will, the arrangements for this.
