Manage an employee who becomes pregnant again while on maternity leave
- If an employee becomes pregnant again while on maternity leave, she will qualify for another 52 weeks' statutory maternity leave.
- Depending on when the second baby is due, and whether or not she takes a period of another kind of leave after maternity leave, this could mean that she returns to work for only a short time, or not at all, before starting her second period of maternity leave.
- The employee will not necessarily be entitled to statutory maternity pay during her second period of maternity leave. To qualify, she must meet the minimum average earnings requirement during the relevant period.
