Notify the employee of the outcome of an appeal in relation to a statutory request in relation to study or training
- The employer may uphold an appeal against the refusal of a statutory request in relation to study or training without holding a meeting with the employee to discuss it, or may uphold or reject the appeal following an appeal hearing.
- The employer must notify the employee of the outcome of the appeal in writing within a specified timescale.
- If the appeal is refused, the employer must set out the grounds for the refusal.
- If the appeal is upheld with the result that the employer agrees to the employee's request in relation to study or training, it must set out a number of specified details about the training, including whether or not the employee will be paid for the time spent on the training.
