Refuse a statutory request in relation to study or training

  • Having considered an employee's statutory request in relation to study or training and held a meeting with the employee to discuss it, the employer may decide to refuse the request on one of the permissible grounds set out in the legislation.
  • These include that the proposed study or training would not improve the employee's effectiveness or the performance of the employer's business.
