Work out if an employee is entitled to statutory paternity pay in relation to a child adopted from within the UK
Key points
To be eligible for statutory paternity pay an employee needs to satisfy the same requirements as in relation to statutory paternity leave. In addition, the employee must have been in continuous employment with the employer between the end of the week in which the adopter was notified of the match and the day on which the child was placed for adoption.
The employee must also have average weekly earnings of at least the lower earnings limit for national insurance purposes.
