Webinar: Get ready for the GDPR - guidance for employers

Ross McKean Katherine Gibson

Although the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) does not come into force until May 2018, employers should prepare now.

The GDPR will introduce changes to the way that data is processed across the EU. As part of this, it sets a higher standard for consent to process personal data and allows regulators to impose significantly higher fines than under existing provisions - up to €20 million or 4% of an organisation's annual worldwide turnover, whichever is greater.

In this webinar, experts Ross McKean and Katherine Gibson give practical advice for employers developing a compliance plan. They also break down how the GDPR will affect the HR function, including:

  • the changes to consent and the impact on processing employee data;
  • the changes to subject access rights and the effect on litigation strategies during employment disputes;
  • how to assemble a GDPR compliance team; and
  • how to apply a risk-based approach to your compliance efforts.

Our experts also look at common HR scenarios affected by the GDPR which will require a different approach.
