Consultation on collective redundancies
Close date: 19 September 2012
The Government consults on reforms to the collective redundancy consultation process. It seeks to reduce the minimum consultation period where the employer proposes to dismiss 100 or more employees from 90 days to 30 or 45 days; issue a non-statutory code of practice relating to redundancy consultations, seeking to facilitate a positive relationship between the employer and employees' representatives; and improve the guidance for employers and employees on the support on offer from the Government.
