Consultation on funding reform for apprenticeships
Close date: 1 May 2014
The Government consults on proposed reforms whereby funding for apprenticeships will be issued directly to employers. It believes that giving employers direct control over the funding of external training and assessment of their apprentices will give them more influence to improve the quality and relevance of the training, and that the reforms will simplify the funding process. The consultation sets out a core funding model that could be implemented through PAYE or "Apprenticeship Credit".
