Consultation on implementing the increase to the normal minimum pension age to 57 years

The Government is seeking views on proposals to protect pension scheme members when the normal minimum pension age raises on 6 April 2028 from 55 to 57. This is the earliest age most pension savers can access their pensions without incurring an unauthorised payments tax charge. The increase will not apply to those who are members of the firefighters, police and armed forces public service pension schemes.
