Consultation on proposals to reduce ill-health-related job loss

The Government consults on measures aimed at supporting disabled people and people with long-term health conditions to remain in work. The proposals being consulted on include a new right to request workplace modifications on health grounds, for employees not covered by the reasonable adjustments duty; reforms to statutory sick pay to make it more flexible and extend it to those earning less than the lower earnings limit; proposals to improve access to occupational health services; and automatic reporting of sickness absence data to the Government through payroll systems.
