Model policies and documents now "gender neutral"

Our popular Policies and documents tool now adopts "gender neutral" language throughout its 1,000 template policies, contract clauses, forms and letters.

Key areas: How many templates?

Changes to our templates include the removal of binary pronouns such as "he/she", "him/her" and "his/her" within the example wording. Where possible, these terms have been replaced with non-binary pronouns such as "they", "their" and "them".

This approach allows you to take account of any gender fluidity within your workforce when drafting your organisation's documentation and communications to staff. It ensures that transgender and non-binary staff do not feel excluded.

This approach also reflects increasing public awareness that not everyone regards their gender identity as exclusively male or female. Good employers can reflect this wider trend in society in their documentation and communications to staff.
