How can I refine my search results?
Where you have searched across the entire site, you can use the "Refine search results" panel on the left side of the search results page to refine your search by tool, topic and/or date. Where relevant, you can also refine the results by sector or industry.
For example, if you have searched for [redundancy pay] but are predominantly interested in reading about other organisations' approach to calculating redundancy pay, you might wish to refine your search by Tool, selecting "Survey analysis". If, however, you wish to locate a model letter or policy concerned with redundancy pay, you will want to select "Policies and documents".
You might also wish to refine by topic. For example, refining the above search by End of employment > Dismissal > Redundancy > Redundancy payments would allow you to drill down to those resources mainly or substantively concerned with the subject of redundancy payments, so categorised under that specific topic.
Refining by date range will allow you to specify a time period. Results are returned according to the initial publication date or, where the resource has been amended, the date of the last amendment.
In addition to searching across the whole site, you can also search from within a particular tool or topic or from within Tasks, refining the results as necessary. You can also expand such a search across the entire site.
