- Employment contracts may be written or oral, and their terms express or implied. (See General)
- Probationary periods are governed solely by the terms of the contract. (See Probationary periods)
- In the private sector, the main distinction in relation to employment contracts is between those of clerical and manual employees, excluding certain kinds of employee such as managers, and those of other types of employees. (See Types of contract)
