  • Employers and employees have various duties regarding health and safety. (See Duties on employers and employees)
  • In the Qatar Financial Centre there is no statutory requirement for employers to appoint safety representatives, and in Qatar generally there is no general statutory requirement to appoint such representatives. (See Safety representatives)
  • In Qatar generally, the Work Inspection Authority is responsible for monitoring and enforcing the application of employment legislation, including health and safety provisions, while in the Qatar Financial Centre, the Employment Standards Office is responsible for administering the Qatar Financial Centre Employment Regulations, including their health and safety provisions.   • In the event that an employee suffers a work-related injury (or occupational disease in Qatar generally but not in the Qatar Financial Centre), the employer must pay the cost of the employee's medical treatment, as determined by a competent medical authority.
