  • There is no general statutory obligation on employers to provide or finance training or development for their employees, or any statutory entitlement for employees to receive training or training leave, with the exception of "learnerships". (See General)
  • Employers with a total annual paybill of more than a certain amount are obliged by law to pay a Skills Development Levy of 1% of their paybill. (See Skills Development Levy)
