Holland v Glendale Industries Ltd [1998] ICR 493 EAT

Reports relating to this case:

  • Constructive dismissal: Employer must be told true reason for resignation

    15 September 1998

In Holland v Glendale Industries Ltd, the EAT upholds an employment tribunal's decision that an employee's complaint of unfair constructive dismissal failed because, although the employer's conduct towards the employee amounted to a repudiatory breach of his contract of employment, the employee had not told the employer that the breach was the reason for his resignation.
