A number of recent cases, such as Hamblin v London Borough of Ealing and Flude v The Post Office, indicate that Tribunals may allow management more latitude in the dismissal of a probationary employee on grounds of failing to meet the required standards than they would do in ordinary unfair dismissal cases.
