Case
This case is a short and clear example of how to deal with an employee suspected of taking illegal drugs. Mr Menshisteab was a bus driver for First South Yorkshire, which has a drug policy prohibiting the use of khat, a legal drug that produces hallucinatory effects. In January 2009, Mr Menshisteab was selected for a random drugs test, at which he disclosed that he had previously used khat, and therefore that his employer should not be surprised if khat was found in his system.
