Contracts of employment: Airline breached pilots' seniority rights
This report relates to 1 case(s)
Adams and others v British Airways plc IRLR 577 HC (0 other reports)
In Adams and others v British Airways plc IRLR 577, the High Court holds that British Airways breached the contracts of employment of some of its pilots when, following a takeover of another airline, it granted that airline's pilots seniority according to their service with their former employer, and above its own pilots. The contracts provided that all "new entrants" would enter service as first officers and would have their seniority determined in order of the date of joining British Airways.
