R v Commission for Racial Equality ex parte Westminster City Council (Court of Appeal, 17.5.85) EOR3E holds that the CRE was entitled to find that the Council discriminated on racial grounds by bowing to pressure from white dustmen to withdraw the appointment of a black employee, notwithstanding that it was undisputed that the council official who withdrew the appointment was not himself motivated by racial prejudice.
