A dismissal decision, made at a meeting which was not properly convened, was ratified retrospectively at a subsequent meeting convened within the rules, holds the EAT in Newman v Polytechnic of Wales Students Union. The effective date of termination of employment was therefore the date that the original dismissal decision was communicated to the employee.
