In Brown v Rentokil Ltd (30 June 1998) EOR81A, the European Court of Justice has ruled that the EC Equal Treatment Directive precludes dismissal of a female worker during her pregnancy because of absences due to incapacity for work caused by illness resulting from that pregnancy.
