In MT Tiquin v Abbey National plc, the employment tribunal rules that a company breached the Disability Discrimination Act when it unfairly dismissed an employee suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. The company discriminated against the employee by treating her less favourably than other employees in that it dismissed her for long-term ill-health absence related to her disability.
