In Paterson v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis EAT/0635/06, the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) has held that a police officer who suffered from mild dyslexia and therefore needed extra time to complete promotion examinations was disabled.

Mr Paterson, who is a senior police officer, discovered in 2004 that he has dyslexia.
