A record £172,940 compensation for unlawful sex discrimination has been awarded by a Leeds industrial tribunal (Chair: J Prophet) in Cannock v Ministry of Defence to a woman who was dismissed from the RAF when she became pregnant.
Nichola Cannock joined the RAF as a flying officer on a permanent 16-year commission in July 1980 following successful completion of a university engineering degree course and a short spell in industry.
