Church v West Lancashire NHS Trust [1998] IRLR 4 EAT (0 other reports)
An employee who was dismissed and replaced in his post by another person whose different job was redundant, was not himself dismissed by reason of redundancy, holds the EAT in Church v West Lancashire NHS Trust [1998] IRLR 4. As a matter of causation, the diminution or cessation in an employer's requirement for employees to carry out work of a particular kind must relate to the work carried out by the dismissed employee himself.
